Field Sports Barristers was set up by brothers James and Tom Bourne-Arton who are both barristers who specialise in different fields, and are based in Leeds and London respectively. Together James and Tom cover different specialism and can therefore assist in most legal aspects that can arise from field sports.
Tom Bourne-Arton was called to the bar in 2005 and specialises in Personal Injury, Health & Safety, and Employment law. Tom can also assist with licencing issues. Tom is regularly instructed at inquests in the coroner’s courts. His personal injury and health & safety practice involves appearing in the County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, for both Claimants and Defendants. As part of his employment practice he is regularly instructed by both employees and employers, and regularly appears in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal. He practices out of a chambers in London but is happy to travel to all parts of England and Wales.
James Bourne-Arton was called to the bar in 2001 and specialises in Criminal law. James also has experience with all matters relating to Criminal law. As a result of 16 years of experience within the Criminal Courts he has represented individuals and companies in the Magistrates, Crown Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. He has particular experience in Shotgun and Firearm licencing appeals. In addition he is also an expert in the matters of police procedure relating to the lawfulness or otherwise of searches, arrests and the seizure and retention of material.. He practices out of a chambers in Leeds but is happy to travel to all parts of England and Wales.
